The Nine of Wands came up, also reversed, in the daily reading on Sunday, January 27. When cards come up repeatedly, it’s significant - it means that the message is important in your life and perhaps you need reminding. Here’s the reading from January 27:

“Sometimes life is a struggle and we encounter setbacks and negative criticisms at every turn. It’s depressing and tempts us to give up on our goals. If this is where you’re at today, this card has come up to advise you to keep up the good fight! You’re closer than you think to achieving a breakthrough. But it’s important for you to focus singlemindedly on what you want to achieve. Build a protective shield around yourself to repel the opinions of others. They aren’t all being honest with you - some are merely envious and taking out their own frustrations on you - and in any case, they’re a distraction at this stage. You need to do this on your own. Now is the time to go within yourself, draw on your inner resources, and push on through to the finish line.”

Does that message resonate with you today?

An additional suggestion comes through in today’s reading: are you sabotaging yourself by taking on more projects and responsibilities than you can effectively handle? Sometimes we don’t know how to say “No”, or we accept overload in order to prove something to others. This is a mistake. Part of setting your protective boundaries is recognizing when you’re making the right decisions that will help you move forward towards your goal, and when you’re distracting yourself by putting obstacles in your way. Work on reducing the amount of “noise” in your life so you can focus on the “signal”.
