Five of Cups, reversed

You may have experienced a setback which has shaken you emotionally. This may have left you feeling stuck in a never-ending cycle of grief, remorse, and general negativity. If so, this card comes up today to advise you to GET OVER IT!! Sometimes we need a good kick in the pants (figuratively speaking, of course!) to get us moving forward again. The Five of Cups, when upright, shows a person gloomily gazing at the spilled cups, while oblivious to the two upright cups which are out of sight. The message of this card when reversed, in this case, is to break out of that hyperfocus on what’s gone wrong, and instead, look around to see the big picture. The Cups are all about feelings and emotions. Reversed Cups in readings suggest that we are allowing those feelings and emotions to confuse us and lead us astray. Try to set your emotional reactions aside for now and look at the situation as objectively as you can. It’s time to get better perspective on the situation that faces us, and think things through, rather than being consumed by negativity. What’s past is past - there’s no use crying over spilled milk (or wine).
