The Two of Swords indicates a stalemate, an impasse in which people can’t move forward because they refuse to see what is obvious. Could this be you? Are you stuck in a rut because you’re in denial about something? This card, reversed, is a call to lower your defenses (your two Swords) and become conscious of your blind spot. Until you recognize it and eliminate it, you won’t be able to see the situation clearly. You could be avoiding this because you’re afraid of what would be revealed to you. You might imagine that you’d see a gloomy, grim prospect, like that depicted in the background of the card. But that’s likely to be an invention of your anxious imagination. Often, blocks occur because we sense subconsciously that if we go forward, we’ll experience deep transformation. And humans fear change, even if they know it’s a positive change that will improve their lives. So lift your blindfold and look around. It’s time to get up and go!
